 Eucalyptus Radiata | Australia | Steam Distilled | Wildcrafted


This variation of Eucalyptus has that distinct, Eucalyptus-type fragrance that many have come to known, but with beautiful notes of honey and sweet sap flowing through it as well.

Eucalyptus Radiata is one of the key 'breathing' oils, particularly useful for upper respiratory complaints (congestion, coughing, sinus infections, etc.), and serves well as an immune stimulant. It has also proven itself quite useful for treating headaches, muscular and arthritic aches & pains, inflammations, minor injuries, and even some types of bacterial infections.

This oil serves well as a mental stimulant, making it an excellent choice for combating exhaustion. Energy workers/healers will find this oil useful for dissolving energetic blocks and inspiring others while promoting confidence from within. It reminds us to breath when we feel suffocated by responsibilities, and aids in the release of deep grief that can be held in our emotional, mental, etheric and physical bodies. It may also be used in place of Sage to rid a room of ill, negative, and/or conflicting energies.

Smelling Grapefruit essential oil is very much like cutting into a fresh grapefruit! It's deliciously light, tangy and sweet scent is wonderfully inviting. In fact, we have yet to meet anyone who dislikes the smell of this essential oil!

Grapefruit is commonly found in all sorts of cosmetic products. This can be contributed to both its scent, and its ability to combat oiliness, acne & congested skin while toning and firming the skin. It is also well known for reducing cellulite and easing water retention. Outside of it's cosmetic uses, Grapefruit may also be used to disinfect the air, reduce muscle fatigue and stiffness, stimulate the lymphatic system, boost the body's natural detoxification systems, and can even regulate digestion and body weight.

This oil has a profoundly uplifting effect on the mind, making it effective for easing depression, nervous exhaustion and jet leg, as well as reducing stress, PMS, and symptoms associated with alcohol and/or drug withdrawal.

Grapefruit carries a calm and cheerful energy with it. It's a wonderful oil for quieting mental chatter, dissolving emotional energy blockages (particularly frustration and self-blame), and helps to ensure our own ego doesn't get in our way. It has been used to promote confidence, increase intuition & mental clarity, is said to bring about inspiration, and can allow for optimal 'digestion' of new concepts/ideas. Being a purifier, it is excellent for cleaning and removing negativity.

Contraindications: Phototoxic. Low to medium concentrations recommended. Not advisable to use on those experiencing skin cancer.

Lavender | Lavandula Vera | Bulgaria | Steam Distilled | Organic

It is well known that Lavender is the "mother of all oils", and is the go-to for many aromatherapists, both beginners and professionals. Its benefits are quite strong and diverse, but the oil itself is one of the most gentle to use. 

What is less known though, is that true Lavender essential oil has several countries of origin, and the scent of this essential oil will vary depending on the country your oil comes from. This Bulgarian Lavender has a sweet, semi-floral scent with a honey-like note throughout. 

This essential oil is one of the more common ingredients found in just about everything, especially skincare. It is often used to address concerns such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, bruises, burns, dandruff, scars, minor cuts, lice, insect bites & stings, and is even used as an insect repellant. However, it's healing benefits also branch out into issues such as cough, cold & flu, asthmatic complaints, bronchitis, sinusitis, muscle spasms, sprains, cramps, muscular aches & pains, headaches & migraines, chronic rheumatism, flatulence, nausea, travel/motion sickness, painful menstruation, PMS, and many, many other uses.

Lavender has a powerful effect on the mind as well. It is a well-known antidepressant (particularly for general, manic, and post-natal depression), is excellent in combating insomnia, and potent stress-buster. Additionally, it may be used to combat shock, vertigo, nervous tension, exhaustion, 'burnout', mood swings, irritability, and may aid concentration.

Lastly, on the energetic/spiritual level, Lavender knows no rival. It is an excellent choice for balancing all energies within, and is useful in call energy healing techniques. It may be used to cleanse & clear a room, and is said to increase our awareness and sensitivity of our hands when used prior to energy healing techniques. Lavender is often used to promote compassion, spiritual growth, health, love, and peace. It helps to diminish feelings of suspicion, bitterness, malice, and jealousy and can calm, comfort, and stabilize emotions of the heart.

Contraindications: While there are no listed contraindications, it is important to note the following:

  • Lavender is an adaptogen (sedative in small doses, stimulant in large doses), and in uncommon cases serves strictly as a mental stimulant for some individuals
  • Overuse of any essential oil (even a mild one like Lavender) can lead to sensitization

Lemon | Citrus Limonum | Italy | Cold Pressed | Organic

Considered one of the "Top Ten" oils to have in any essential oil collection, Lemon is (in some instances) nearly as versatile as Lavender. It has a zestful, sweet & fresh citrus note with a hint of tartness that many are familiar with. Simply smelling this oil will often trigger a smile, and words such as "cheerful", "joyful", and "bright" often come to mind as you breathe in its invigorating scent.

This essential oil is well known for its ability to combat both oily and dry skin, acne, and is often found in anti-aging and brightening skin serums. When diffused or inhaled, it is a wonderful treat for those suffering from asthma, sore throats, bronchitis, sinus infections, and virtually all respiratory infections. It has been noted for its ability to gently soothe gout, rheumatism, and arthritis, and is an excellent choice for increasing circulation. It is suggested that it may assist in lowering blood pressure, and is considered beneficial for those struggling with weight management.

The psychological effects of Lemon are potent, and are often said to be felt almost instantaneously. Considered to be one of the stronger antidepressants, this essential oil is wonderful when used in blends to address anxiety, anger, confusion, and general feelings of being "rundown". It serves as a gentle but powerful mental stimulant, and is often used to boost concentration and memory. Use a hint of Lemon in sleep blends to help reduce the intensity and occurrences of frequent nightmares.

Given its sunlight-like nature, Lemon is often used to promote joy (both inner & external), cheerfulness, optimism, and can bring clarity and objectivity to light. It's an excellent cleanser and clearer on the energetic levels, and assists in softening fears of emotional involvement. It promotes energy flow by removing negative blockages, and revitalizes the stagnant energy within us. It is often worn during full moons to attune with its energy, and can frequently be found in purification and energetic healing blends.

Contraindications: Phototoxic. Skin irritant if used undiluted. Avoid use if allergy to lemons exists.

Orange | Sinensis | U.S. | Cold-pressed | Organic

The scent of Sweet Orange is more or less what you would expect it to smell like. It's light, fresh, with a bit of zest, much like cutting into a fresh orange.

Sweet Orange is ideal for skincare where oily, dull skin is a concern, as well as puffy, wrinkled, chapped or fissured skin, or where the epidermis needs strengthening. As for other applications, this essential oil may be used for bronchitis, constipation, simple water retention, mouth ulcers, promoting weight loss, and assisting the digestive process.

Psychologically, Sweet Orange has a sedating effect which is useful for combating nervousness, tension, hysteria, excessive worrying, and stress related problems. It is suggested that it revives interest, and helps to harmonize the physical and mental aspects of our lives.

Sweet Orange is useful in dispelling negative energy from ones aura, as well as from thought patterns. It is said to nourish an individual's soul with joy, while moving stagnate energy. It brings positive energy to our lives, and is used to promote self-confidence, courage, creativity, joy in sexuality and love, as well as bring about good fortune and luck. Often found in purification blends, Sweet Orange may assist us in conquering obsessions, or fears of letting go.

Contraindications: Considered phototoxic. Oxidizes rapidly, but may be used regularly (with proper dilution, or diffusion). Not recommended for sensitive or damaged skin.


Patchouli Dark Organic | Pogostemom Cablin | Indonesia | Steam Distilled | Organic

Patchouli is a deep, earthy oil that draws you in. Common among those who meditate, it is often described as 'damp soil', and has the most subtle hints of spice to it.

Patchouli is highly beneficial to the skin due to its powerful cell regenerative properties, and is (unsurprisingly) found in many natural skincare & body products. It is most commonly used for dermatitis, psoriasis, athlete's foot, acne, scars, dry & cracking skin, wrinkles, impetigo, varicose veins, dandruff, and oily hair/scalp conditions. It is also noted for being effecting in addressing wounds, abscesses, bed sores, hemorrhoids (external), impotence, fidgety, and menopausal sweats.

Because it slows rapid breathing, this oil is often used to assist in inducing deep meditative states, combat anxiety, mild insomnia, and general stress issues & concerns. Though sedating in low dosages, it is stimulating in higher amounts, and may be used to sharpen and clear one's mind.

Patchouli is common among energy workers, and can be found in blends promoting protection, prosperity, creativity, and centering. It is often used to ground ourselves while drawing energy from the earth, and is useful in relaxing one's over-active intellect. It is said to help us define ourselves, allowing us to express it to the world in a healthy manner. Patchouli may also assist individuals in appreciating the sacredness of life.

Contraindications: Use caution around those with allergies to spicy foods, or those with scent sensitivities. Though risk is minimal, overuse may result in insomnia and loss of appetite. 

Rosemary | Rosmarinus Officinalis | Morocco | Steam Distilled | Wildcrafted

Rosemary's sharp, fresh, clean, and invigorating scent is one that is all too familiar to essential oil enthusiast. Many find the scent to be reminiscent close to that of Eucalyptus, or Camphor.

In skincare, Rosemary is known to be useful against acne, sagging and devitalized skin, congested skin, puffiness, eczema, varicose veins, and helps to promote hair growth and strength while reducing dandruff.  Additionally, it will help to provide relief from muscular aches, pains, sprains and cramps, sciatica, arthritic pain, neuralgia, gout, tendinitis, rheumatism, congestion, colds & flu, bronchitis, sinusitis, some respiratory infections, dyspepsia, flatulence, painful periods, mild constipation, physical exhaustion, and upset stomach (that's quite the list!). It is also shown to help raise low blood pressure, and is considered a lung tonic.

Rosemary serves as a powerful stimulant for the mind. This makes it ideal for dealing with mental burnout, fatigue, lethargy, mental blocks, and nervous exhaustion. It's great for those sluggish mornings (especially for those trying to kick caffeine from their diets), and serves as an excellent study aid. It may also be used to combat feelings of panic, confusion, hysteria, and anger. It is known to boost confidence, overall concentration, speech, and is said to fortify listening skills.

For those who prefer work with subtle energies, Rosemary should most certainly be part of your collection. Despite the intensity of its scent, Rosemary is a gentle comfort for those suffering from a heartbreak. It may be used in any grieving blend, and is particularly useful to those seeking closure of to an expired relationship. It is believed to provide protection from negative influences, establish healthy relationships boundaries, inspire faith & loyalty, promote self-confidence, strengthen will power, and provide psychic protection. It is often found in love, joy, and spiritual healing blends.

Contraindications: Avoid using in cases of epilepsy, high blood pressure, and pregnancy. Highly stimulating, even in small doses, so do avoid several hours before sleeping. May antidote homeopathic remedies.

Tea Tree | Melaleuca alternifolia | Australia | Steam Distilled | Organic

Another of champion ranking in the "top ten", Tea Tree oil can be found in just about every home. It's scent is often described as "medicinal", though we prefer to describe it as clean, clearing and fresh with a slight smoky note.

It's antifungal, parasiticide, bactericidal and strong antiseptic properties make this essential oil ideal for (when used correctly) things such as acne, abscesses, athlete's foot, oily skin, warts, ringworm, infected wounds, cold sores, ear/nose/throat infections, staph/strep infections, shingles, and many viral/fungal infections. Topically (and properly diluted), it may assist with rashes, spots, sweaty feet, stings and dandruff as well.

Tea Tree is considered one of the top immune system stimulants as well. It is commonly reached for when addressing bronchitis, emphysema, cough, sinusitis, TB, tonsillitis, whooping cough, and general cold, flu, and fever complaints.

This essential oil is useful when treating shock, general or nervous exhaustion, nervous depression, and is stimulating to the mind. Energetically, it is said to expand all chakras, aligning them with the crown, which allows for the establishment of new beliefs. It brings about a sense of connection to pure life energy, and can be used to promote protection and confidence.

Contraindications: May irritate sensitive skin. May induce sweating in high dosages. Sensitization may occur with regular undiluted use, dilution recommended for frequent application. Considered toxic to most pets.

Geranium | Pelagonium roseum | Madagascar | Steam Distilled | Organic 

This oil possesses a beautifully bold, thick, sweet and floral scent, with hints of Rose flowing throughout it. However, its enveloping fragrance is just one of the many perks this essential oils contains.

Geranium benefits the body on many different levels. It is commonly used by aromatherapists to treat athlete's foot, burns, bruises, eczema, tonsillitis, asthmas, rheumatism, neuralgia, as well as menstrual & menopausal complaints. It's a mild sedative, as well as an uplifting antidepressant, suitable for general, manic, or post-natal depression.

Geranium is also said to carry energetic vibrations that are wonderful for soothing broken hearts and diminishing conflicts. It's an excellent choice for promoting the natural harmony and happiness found in relationships while balancing the emotions. Geranium is also though to bring strong, energetic protection, and can often be found in 'happiness' blends.

Contraindications: Avoid during 1st trimester of pregnancy.

 

Peppermint

Description: Peppermint in general is light, invigorating, and cooling. This particular Peppermint hails from France, and because of this has an additional leafy-green note that is followed by a candy-cane like sweetness that many find highly enjoyable.

When people think of Peppermint, they think of headache & migraine relief. While certainly particularly useful for headaches, it is actually a rather versatile essential oil. This essential oil is considered to be one of the fundamental "Top Ten" essential oils, and you'll see why as you continue reading.

The more common ailments this essential oil is used for include: general muscle pain, headaches & migraines, congestion, stomach cramps, indigestion, flatulence, nausea, diarrhea, sore throats, and bad breath (note: none of these are treated through ingestion).

As for the less common uses In skin care, Peppermint is useful for treating acne, dermatitis, eczema, bruises, inflammation, and rashes. It is considered to be a skin detoxifier, and will assist in the removal of blackheads while cooling the skin. Inhaled, this essential oil may be used to curb and soothe asthma, bronchitis, laryngitis, sinusitis, and spasmodic & dry coughing. When applied topically, Peppermint will help ease neuralgia, sciatica, arthritis, and rheumatism. Additionally, when used during a bout of flu, it will cool when hot, and warm when cold.

When ailments of the mind begin to pop up, Peppermint has been shown to be effective in combating mental exhaustion, nervous stress, vertigo, depression, poor concentration, confusion, hysteria, panic, shock, irritability, and general 'rundown' feelings.

Energetically, Peppermint is quite the powerhouse. It is believed to activate the Higher Mind which has the ability to calm memories of hysteria, terror, and fears of the unknown. It 'cools' resistance to new information that may challenge existing knowledge, and encourages clarity in communication. It is used to aid in the discovering of an individual's hidden gifts and strengths, and can assist in dispelling the ego while overcoming feelings of inferiority. This essential oil may assist in increasing sensitivity, awareness, and perception, even in dreams. Peppermint is commonly found in purification blends, and may be used to promote healthy self-esteem, integrity, ones ethics, and inspiration.

On a final note, Peppermint has been noted to intensify the effects of other essential oils it is blended with. Pending on the blend this can be either very beneficial, or less than ideal. We suggest being mindful when making blends containing Peppermint.

Contraindications: Strong dilution is recommended, particularly for facial care products. Do not use on small children. Avoid use on those with epilepsy. Not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy, or when breast feeding.
